Esther E. Roehler, age 99 of Arlington, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23 at 11: 00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Arlington Township, with Reverend William Postel officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be at St. John's cemetery in Arlington Township. Esther was born on April 18, 1912, to Fred and Pauline (Wagner) Quast, in Kelso Township in Sibley County, and grew up in Arlington. She was united in marriage to Henry Roehler, on November 6, 1935, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley Township. She and Henry farmed, and Esther loved to help with the farm work. Esther was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and a long time member of the Ladies Aid. She also loved to quilt, crochet and play cards. Esther is survived by her son Norm Roehler of Arlington, (special friend Irene Mangan), daughter Darlene (Gary) Knoepke of Georgetown, Texas, 6 grandchildren, Vicki Mlady, Kim Corazao, Stacy Pahl, Chad Roehler, Shawn Roehler, Kellie Roehler, and 9 great grandchildren. Casket bearers for the funeral will be William Soeffker, Dale Gerholz, Mike Willmsen, Paul Sickmann, Les Bening and Kenneth Wentzlaff. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry, a sister, Alma Pomplun, and a brother, Alvin Quast.
