Ethel D. Genelin

Ethel D. Genelin, age 90 of Le Sueur, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Fr. George Grafsky will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, beginning with a 2 p.m. Rosary and ending with a 6 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday from 8-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Ethel was born on November 14, 1920 to Edward and Helen (Benzick) Holicky in Lexington Township. She graduated from Le Center High School and attended St. Catherine College. She married Urban L. "Stub" Genelin on February 4, 1941 at St. Joseph's Church in Lexington. She was a longtime employee of Green Giant and retired from the Pillsbury Company. She was active in St. Anne's Choir, Le Sueur Garden Club, Hospital Auxiliary, C.C.W. and M.C.C.L. Ethel is survived by her 9 children, Bonnie (William) Galey of Leawood, K.S., Greg (Jo Ellen) Genelin of Le Sueur, Carol (Dave) Abrahamson of Alexandria, Terry (Nancy) Genelin of Le Sueur, Gery (Diane) Genelin of Le Sueur, Steve (Sandra) Genelin of Le Sueur, Janine Genelin of St. Peter, Susan (Tim) McPartland of Le Sueur and Mary (Allen) Grieves of Le Sueur; Brother, Edward Holicky of New Prague; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, "Stub" in 1998; and 3 infant children.
