Eugene Schultz

Eugene Robert (Gene) Schultz age 73 of Le Sueur, died Thursday September 22 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur at 11.am. Burial will be at Mound Cemetary in Le Sueur. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p. m. on Monday at Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and one hour prior to the service at the church. Gene was born on Oct 7 1942 in Blakeley Township to Wesley and Verna (Opperman) Schultz. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Decko at Norseland Norwegian Lutheran Church on June 6th 1964. Gene graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1961. He was a member of the Army Reserves for 6 years. He worked at A.H Hermel Candy and Tobacco Company and Culligan. Gene and Marilyn ran the Welcome Inn Café in Le Sueur for a few years before running the Valley Roller-Rena in Lesueur prior to working as a lineman for the city of Le Sueur from which he retired. He was a member of the Jaycees as well as a 20 year member of the Le Sueur Fire Department. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, horses and spending time with his family and friends. Gene is survived by his Loving wife, Marilyn and two children Tammy (Steve) Swanson of Daytona Beach FL and Bill (Molly) Schultz of Le Sueur. Brothers Gordy (Roxy) Schultz of Mankato and Ken (Mary) Schultz of Mesa AZ. Grandchildren, Beth Sterling and Special Friend Daniel of Sydney, Australia, Cassie Schultz and fiancé Kris Wilke of Le Sueur and Erin and Connor Schultz also of Le Sueur. Gene is proceeded in death by his parents Wes and Verna.
