Evangeline "Vangie" Ann Burns

Evangeline "Vangie" Ann Burns age 88 of Tyrone Township died September 16, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and on Thursday until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A lunch will follow the services at St. Anne's School in LeSueur. Vangie was born Sept 22, 1929 to Joseph and Rose Wondra in Montgomery, MN. She graduated from Montgomery High School. Vangie married John "Jack" Burns on November 9, 1953 at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery, MN. Together, they raised 7 children, Loni, Diane, Bob, Patti, Barb, Colleen and Mary Jo on their farm near St. Thomas. Vangie was well known around the town of Le Sueur working at Salisbury Drug and V&S Variety Store. She blessed her family and friends with her quilts, kolacky, peanut cakes and cinnamon rolls. Proceeded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, sisters Lucille (and 2 husbands, Martin Vochaska, Stanley Javurek), Delores (Tom) Pan, Leola (Don Kaisershot), Jeanne (Jack) Moreland; brothers-in-law Timmie Burns, Francis O'Brien; sisters-in-law Viola Wondra, Madelyne (Charles) Wolff, Mildred (Ralph) Graham, Alice (Cletus) Hoehn, Kathleen (John) Fogarty. Survived by children, Loni (Tom) Graham of Henderson, Diane Burns of Savage, Bob "Barney" (Jean) of St. Thomas, Patti (Chuck Spadaccini) Burns of Belle Plaine, Barb (Mike) Ruhland of Montgomery, Colleen (Dale) Rohloff of Le Sueur, Mary Jo (Tim) Boelter of Green Isle, brother, Leonard Wondra; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Burns, Mary Grace O'Brien, brother-in-law, Edward (Eileen) Burns, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
