Evelyn B. (Ische) Martin

Evelyn Martin, age 91 of Belle Plaine died on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. John Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Evelyn was born on May 3, 1919 in Belle Plaine to Louis and Bertha (Segler) Ische. She grew up in Belle Plaine where she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran and attended Belle Plaine schools. She married Orville E. Martin on June 4, 1937 in Belle Plaine. They lived in Glencoe for 7 years before moving back to Belle Plaine. Evelyn was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid and volunteered at the Lutheran Home for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, needlework and playing cards. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by sons, Roger (Barb) Martin of Shakopee, Larry Martin of Belle Plaine and Richard (Susan) Martin of Grand Rapids; 6 Grandchildren, Melanie Martin, Troy (Julie) Martin, Angela (Jeff) Dirkes, Molly (Mark) Martin, Jeffrey Martin and Michael Martin; 4 Great Grandchildren, Lewis Dirkes, Owen Dirkes, Shawn Martin and Max Montgomery; 2 Sisters: VioletYahnke of Le Sueur and Mildred Hendrickson of Lakeville, many nieces and nephews.
