Evelyn L. Stowell

Evelyn Stowell, age 97 of Le Sueur passed away on February 20, 2015, at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Evelyn was born on January 9, 1918 to Ernest F. and Viola Miles Mediger in Huron, South Dakota. She attended country school in rural Broadland and high school in Broadland, South Dakota. Evelyn moved to Minnesota with her parents in 1932. She married Leo Stowell on May 24, 1936 in Minneapolis. They farmed in Sibley County for many years, moving to LeSueur in 1953. Her interests included her home, flowers and walking. Evelyn did seasonal work for Green Giant for twenty years. Evelyn is survived by twins, Maurice of LeSueur and Mary Jane (Richard) Trujillo of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and daughters Janet (Antonio) Garza of Grove City, Ohio, and Marge (Les) Hinzmann of Dublin, Ohio. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, four sisters, Elnah, Laura, Gladys and Merle, and four brothers, George, Elmer, Alford and Earl. Memorial service details will be announced in early May.
