Evelyn H. Van Buskirk, age 94 of Henderson, died at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis on Sunday, June 3. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m, St. Paul's U.C.C, Henderson Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson. Rev. Brigit Stevens will officiate the services. Evelyn was born on June 27, 1917 to William and Ida (Doering) Hartstock in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Minnesota at a young age after the death of her mother. She attended Arlington & Henderson schools, graduating from Henderson High School. She married Carl Van Buskirk on August 27, 1949 at St. Paul's U.C.C. Parsonage. The couple lived and raised their family in Henderson. She worked for over 30 years for ADC Telecommunications in St. Peter, MN, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the St. Paul's Ladies Guild for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, cooking baking & knitting She is survived by her sons, Jim (Rita) Schultz of Le Sueur, MN, Earl "Fuzzy" Schultz of Henderson & his special friend, Sharon Anderson; Step-daughters, Margaret "Peggy" (Wayne) Kahle of Paynesville, MN, Carol Thiesfeld of Pine River & her special friend Harold Plieseis; Cousin raised like a brother, Don (Lois) Reidler of Des Moines, Iowa; 18 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren & 6 Great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1984; son, William; Son-in-law, Clarence Thiesfeld; Daughters-in-Law, Jan and Joyce Schultz; Sister, Phyllis Radermacher and Half-brother, Kenneth Hartstock.
