Faye Mehlhop

Faye M. Mehlhop, age 83 of Green Isle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7 th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. A gathering of family and friends will be two hours (9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.) prior to the service at the church. Lunch will follow a private burial in the church cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements.

Faye Marie Mehlhop was born in Green Isle on June 26, 1939, to Arnold and Mildred (Stoldt) Latzke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. She attended grade school in Green Isle and was a 1957 graduate of Arlington-Green Isle public schools. Faye married Donald Mehlhop on February 4, 1959, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She and Donald were married 63 years and were blessed with 5 children. Faye waitressed at the Oasis Café and worked for Tonka Toys and Telex before retiring from Technical Services in Arlington. Faye pitched for the softball team and enjoyed the friendships made by being on the bowling team. She enjoyed listening to old county music, reading, and watching sports, especially the Vikings and Twins. She enjoyed camping and fishing and loved being with her family above all else.

She is survived by her husband; Donald, sons; Rick (Lynne), Brian (Lisa), Kent (Kris), daughters; Peggy (Brian) Phillipy and Tammy Jetton, grandchildren; Melissa (Kameron) Berget, Adam Mehlhop, Lindsey (Adam) Voss, Mathew Meffert, Miranda (John) LaBonte, Colin Mehlhop, Ally (Scott) Hartman, Michaela (Zach) Ince, Bailey Jetton, Grace Phillipy, and Will Jetton, great grandchildren; Addison Berget, Kenley Berget, Harrison Berget, Fletcher Berget, Rylen Voss, Madden Voss, Casin Blakeman, Austin Seefeldt, Alexander Ince and Hudson Ince, brothers; Jerry (Elda) and Bob (Beda) Latzke.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Mildred, and brothers, Kenneth “Snooky” and Lloyd Latzke.
