Gary L. Tuchtenhagen

Gary Lee Tuchtenhagen, 63 of Hutchinson , MN died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Memorial services will be on Friday, December 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop, MN. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. A lunch at the church following the service at church. Burial with full Military Honors will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. Rev. Paul Tessmer will officiate the services. Gary was born on September 6, 1950 in Arlington, Minnesota to Kenneth & Bernice (Duenow) Tuchtenhagen. He attended Winthrop Schools and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1968. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until 1971. He returned home in 1971 taking up some technical training in Mankato. He drove Truck for many years, worked for Hutchinson Technical Services for 7 years before returning to his long career in trucking. Gary was a member of the Winthrop V.F.W. and enjoyed his home on Lake Erie near Hutchinson, MN, fishing and motorcycling . He is survived by his Mother; Bernice Tuchtenhagen of Gaylord, MN; siblings, Dennis (Betty) Tuchtenhagen of Arlington, MN, Cheryl Voelz of Glencoe, MN & Scott (Julie) Tuchtenhagen of Winthrop, MN. Many nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Tuchtenhagen & brother-in-law, Dennis Voelz.
