Gene Donald Kahle, 68, of Le Sueur, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 27, 2026. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, from 4–7 p.m. at Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, with interment and Military Honors to follow at 7 p.m. at Mound Cemetery.
Gene was born September 10, 1957, in St. Peter to Donald and Shirley (Brandt) Kahle. He grew up in Le Sueur and attended local schools before proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1974–1976. Over the years, he worked at Johnson Aggregate, Mobilcrete as a driver, United Steel Products as a welder, and later at the Le Sueur Country Club as a groundskeeper.
Gene appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including; time on the golf course, hunting (especially squirrels), fishing, riding his motorcycle, and NASCAR. He’ll be remembered for his laid-back spirit, sense of humor, and the many good times he shared with family and friends.
Gene is survived by his siblings, Glen “Benny” (Linda) Kahle of Le Sueur and Geri (Steve) Griep-Kahle of Cleveland; his uncle, Carl Walsten of Savage; his nieces and nephews, Bailey Eng (special friend, Travis Styles), Cody (Karen) Kahle, Lukas (Annetta) Loose, and Sadie (fiancé, Sam Shipstad) Loose; along with many grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; aunts and uncles; and two nephews, Regun Donahue and Landon Loose; and special friend, Joyce Lindgren.
