George Robert Carl Rehbein

George Robert Carl Rehbein, age 99 of Arlington died on July 9, 2010 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. George was born in Blue Earth County near Amboy, MN on May 16, 1911 to Robert and Elsie (Mann) Rehbein. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Harriet Hoffman on August 14, 1943 in Logansport, Indiana. They moved to Arlington in 1947. George worked as a farmer and also worked at Big Stone Canning Factory. After retirement, George and Harriet enjoyed traveling and spent their winters traveling down south. George was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington and a member of the American Legion for over 65 years. He enjoyed traveling and flower gardening. George was preceded in death by Children, Robert Rehbein, Wayne Hoffman and Sharann Fischer; Daughter-in-law, Linda Rehbein; Son-in-law, Dale Rischmiller; 2 Great grandchildren; 4 Brothers and 1 Sister. He is survived by his wife, Harriet Rehbein Son, George (Kathy) Rehbein, II of Woodbury, MN; Daughters, Pam (Ronald) Krueger of Arlington, MN Dixie Rischmiller of Osakis, MN Barbara (Chris) Mohr of Homeland, CA Georgia (Richard) Reed of Darfur, MN; Daughter-in-laws, Marge Hoffman and Sally Rehbein; 2 Brothers, Will (Muriel) Forrey and Dave Forrey; 24 grandchildren, 61 Great Grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
