Gerald J. Bigaouette

Gerald Joseph Bigaouette, age 85 of Rogers, MN and formerly of the Jessenland Township area died on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Wellstead of Rogers Living Facility.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, MN.  Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the Mass.  Lunch in church social hall following Mass.  Burial will follow lunch, St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Jessenland Township, Sibley County.

Gerald was born on July 30, 1939 to Lawrence and Mary Ella (Lawrence) Bigaouette in Faxon Township, Sibley County, MN.  He grew up in the Jessenland area of Sibley County and was a long-time member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Jessenland Township, Sibley County.   He worked in the warehouse at the Red Owl Corporate Building in Plymouth, MN for many years and also farmed the Jessenland area for many years.  After retirement he did some delivery work for a trucking company.  He was an avid lover of music, enjoyed polka festivals and had a large collection of accordions.  He always enjoyed going back to Jessenland to the St. Thomas-Jessenland Festivals.

He is survived by his life partner, Margaret , St. Michael, MN.  Children; Mark (Jill) Bigaoette of Granite Falls, MN; Roger (Cindy) Bigaouette of Belle Plaine, MN and Connie (Tom) Heinrich; Four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Sisters; Geraldine (Tom) Sons of Cologne, MN, Rita (Robert) Halquist of Henderson, MN and Jean Bigaouette of Albany, NY.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Shirley Cuyler and daughter-in-law; Joyce Bigaouette.
