Gerald M. Morrison

Gerald M. "Jerry" Morrison, age 74 of Belle Plaine, died on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church in Faxon Township. Fr. Sam Perez will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Jerry was born in Arlington on July 30, 1940 to Martin and Marie (Berger) Morrison. He grew up on the family farm in Faxon Township and attended country school. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1958 and enlisted the Army Reserves. Jerry worked for the railroad for a short time before his work at the Co-op in Belle Plaine. He started farming full time in 1976. Jerry has lived in the Cardinal Ridge Apartments in Belle Plaine for the last several years. He was an avid bowler and bowled several nights per week. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Tom (Colleen) Morrison of Belle Plaine, Don (Judy) Morrison of Belle Plaine, Joan (David) Pint of New Prague, Pat Kamps of North Mankato, niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
