Gerald "Gerry" Wilson, age 85 of Le Sueur, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31 at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, and one hour prior to service time on Thursday at church. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur with military honors. Gerry was born on February 28, 1933 to Charles and Gladys (DeMoss) Wilson in Blairsburg, IA. He graduated from Blairsburg High School as the class salutatorian. He received his Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Iowa, and later a Master's degree from Mankato State University. Gerry entered the U.S. Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War. He married Sue Ann Dougherty on August 12, 1956. Gerry was a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. He worked as Sr. Chief Accountant for Green Giant/Pillsbury for many years. He owned and operated an H&R Block franchise before retiring. Gerry also co-operated Brewery Hill Christmas Trees since 1981. He was heavily involved in his community, volunteering as a Cub and Boy Scout leader, youth baseball and football coach, served as a school board member, and was the treasurer at his church, just to name a few. Gerry had a great sense of wit about him and a wonderful personality to be around. His anecdotes and life lessons are cherished. Gerry will truly be missed by many, especially his loving family. Gerry is survived by his wife, Sue, of 61 years; children, Scott (Mary) Wilson of Le Sueur, Todd Wilson of La Crescent, MN, Amy (Tim) Lindgren of Dent, MN, and Jill (Tom) Miller of Mankato; grandchildren, Ben (Angie) Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Chelsie (Brandon) Seth, Abbie (fiancé, Ryan Burns) Wilson, Luke Wilson, Chelsea Lovejoy, Drake Wilson, Tristan Wilson, Kylie Wilson, Jasmine (Joe) Koncur, Ian Lindgren, Sam Lindgren, Cassidy Miller, and Riley Miller; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Rebecca) Anderson, Ashley Beseke, Colton and Dalton Wilson, Charlie and Emma Koncur, Jane Mary and Jack Seth, and Ashton Lovejoy; siblings, Iris Greenfield of Slater, IA, and Reggie Wilson of Kansas City, KS; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elizabeth Blu, Francis, and Charles Wilson.
