Geraldine "Geri" Braun

Geraldine “Geri” Braun, age 75 of Le Sueur, died Monday, January 23, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  Memorial service will be at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023.  Burial will be at a later time in Salem-Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur County.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday morning.

Geraldine was born on October 14, 1947 in Mankato, MN to Richard and Elsie (Rinkel) Lutz.  She grew up in the Mankato area and graduated from Mankato High School. She married Allan Braun on May 15, 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. The couple lived and raised four children in Le Sueur. Geri worked several different jobs over the years.  Seasonally at Green Giant, Osborn Labs, Hubbard Inc, Le Sueur Inc, Michael Foods and lastly Pony Express Courier Services.  She enjoyed shuffle board leagues, horseshoes, snowmobiling, horses and traveling with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her children; Jackie (Roman) Suda of Jordan, MN; Terri Braun of Henderson, MN; Dana (Lonnie) Weckwerth of Le Sueur, MN and Richard Braun of Le Sueur, MN.  9 grandchildren; Miranda (Justin) O’Flanagan of New Richmond, WI, Tim Steinborn of Madison Lake, MN, Ian and Kaitlyn Suda of Jordan, MN; Alex Braun of Le Sueur, MN; Andrew and Zachary Weckwerth of LeSueur, MN, Melinda (Alejandro) Weckwerth of Le Sueur, MN; Eli Braun of Mankato, MN, and 2 great-granddaughters, Kinsley and Keira O’Flanagan.  Sisters; DeEtta Benedict of Waseca, MN; Bernita (Bob) Schabert of Courtland, MN. Brothers and Sisters in law; Lynn Braun, Steve Braun, Cheryl (Bill) Krause, Kiel (Darcy) Braun, Kay (Pat) Burns. Many nieces and nephews. Special family members, Stanley the dog and Bella the cat.

She is preceded in death by her parents; faithful dog, Daisy, of 17 years, and her husband Allan, of 51 years, in July of 2022.
