Gertrude A. Vinkemeier

Gertrude A. Vinkemeier, age 96 of Le Sueur died on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Oak Terrace in Gaylord, MN. Funeral will be on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson, MN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN. She was born on October 13, 1919 to Henry and Martha (Thomas) Ehlers in Jessenland Twp., Sibley County, MN. She grew up in rural Green Isle and attended school at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township, Sibley County. She married Clarence Vinkemeier on August 27, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church rural Green Isle, MN. The couple farmed in rural Henderson, Arlington, Glencoe and Victoria before buying a farm in Henderson Township, Sibley County. Over the years, Gertrude worked outside the home at Fingerhut in Gaylord, Spors in Le Center, MN and Green Giant in Le Sueur, MN. She enjoyed farming and her time with her family. She is survived by her children; Carol (Darrel) Borchardt of Winthrop, MN; Darlene (Jerry) Wolfe of Walker, MN; Phyllis (Roger) Meffert of Gaylord, MN; Wayne (Lori) Vinkemeier of Stewart, MN; Bruce (Marilyn) Vinkemeier of Glencoe, MN; Dale (Julie) Vinkemeier of Henderson, MN, Dennis (Diane) Vinkemeier of Gaylord, MN and Kent Vinkemeier of Le Sueur, MN. 16 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Sister-in-Law, Rosie Ehlers of Hutchinson, MN. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence in 2007; Siblings, Art Ehlers, Olga Lucht and LaVern Erdmann; Sons-in-Law, Tom Nelson and Jerry Dietel and daughter-in-law, Carol Vinkemeier.
