Gesina Wilhelmina Baumgard

Gesina Wilhelmina Baumgard, age 89 of Jordan, passed away on July 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, at the First Presbyterian Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Don Genereux, will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday afternoon. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Gesina was born in Adrian, MN on July 20, 1924 to Herman and Tillie Klooster. On January 4, 1957 she married Vernon "Dots" Baumgard at the First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN. They farmed in the Paynesville and Adrian areas before settling in Jordan. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She also enjoyed having family at her home, visiting with family and friends on the phone, word find books and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, John, Richard and Ann Klooster; daughter-in-law, Kristin and several in-laws. Gesina is survived by her children, Renee (Larry) Spangenberg of Laporte, Dean (Julie) Baumgard of Colman, SD, Denise (Tom) Johnson of Shakopee, Randy (Marian) Baumgard of Jordan, Gary Baumgard of Farmington, 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, Brothers, Marvin (Ramona) Klooster of Adrian, and Melvin Klooster of Aitkin, in-laws, June & Carl Harberts of Emery, SD, and Norma & Duane Defries of Rochester, Many Nieces and Nephews.
