Gladys G. Zumberge

Gladys G. ZumBerge, age 91 of Green Isle died at home with her daughters at her bedside on Friday morning, October 28, 2022.  Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 3, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle, MN.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at the church form 10:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery in Green Isle.  Rev. Eric Rapp will officiate the services.

Gladys was born to William and Emma (Kroells) Oelfke on November 20, 1930 on the family farm in Green Isle Township.  She went to Country Schools and Glencoe High School where she graduated.  She married Orville ZumBerge on February 14, 1950 in Hamburg, MN.  The couple lived and farmed near Green Isle for many years.  She was the Sunshine Lady at church, member of the Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul’s Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary, Sunday School Teacher for many years and the Lutheran Women’s Mission Society.  She enjoyed baking cookies, word finds, reading, fishing, gardening and visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters; Mary Ann (Gary) Kaderabek of Jackson, MN and Mona (Damon) Ewald of Darwin, MN.  Grandchildren; Rustin Kaderabek and Katie Braun; Adam and Jacob Sapp, Megan O’Brien and Mason Goettl and Cody and Carly Ewald, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-great-granddaughter.  Many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Orville in 2001; Son, Michael in 2021 and Daughter, Marcia in 2020.   Sister, Muriel Panning and brother, Virgil Oelfke.
