Glenn Groves

Glenn R. Groves, age 74 of Le Sueur, died peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Memorial service will be on Friday, March 29 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur starting at 7:30PM with a visitation at 7:00PM.

Glenn was born on April 10, 1944 to Raymond and Opal (Trobaugh) Groves on the family farm in Westfield, Iowa.  He graduated from Central High School in 1962 in Sioux City, IA.  Glenn held various jobs before he began his career in Law Enforcement as a Police Officer.  He was blessed to retire 30 years later.  After retiring from law enforcement he worked in maintenance, and obtained his boilers license.

Glenn married the love of his life, Marlene Zins on January 22, 1999 in Las Vegas.  Although, his wife shared his love with his ’67 Chevy Camaro.  He enjoyed fishing; and was a great handyman.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Troy (Brenda) Groves of Lawton, IA, Kim Groves of Des Moines, IA, Jessie (Chris) Waters of Madison, WI, and Lynn (Eric) Burgemeister of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Amber (Kory) Love and Kyler Groves; great-grandchildren, Kamden, Scott, and Jackson Love, Joe and Brooke Burgemeister.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia; and brother, Jerry.
