Glenna Mielke

Glenna (Hafemann) Mielke, age 87, of Arlington, MN, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 at Oak Terrace in Gaylord, MN.  Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, MN, with interment following at the Glencoe Public Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church.

Glenna Theresa Alma Mielke was born on March 6, 1932, in Camden Twp. Carver Co. MN. She was the daughter of William & Adeline (Zellmann) Hafemann. She was baptized on March 7, 1932 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Germany, MN, & confirmed at the same church on April 14, 1946. She married Norman J. Mielke on May 5, 1950 at St. Mark’s, and the couple lived and farmed in rural Green Isle Twp. Norman passed away in 1998 and Glenna continued to live on the family farm until 2012. She then moved to Amberfield Senior Housing in Arlington, MN.

Glenna is survived by her daughter’s & their spouses, Beverly (James) Mackenthun, Glencoe, Delila (James) Duffy, Glencoe, Peggy (Ken) Drentlaw, Green Isle, MN., 9 Grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Ortwin Hafemann, New Germany, & sister-in-law, Gloria Mielke, Glencoe, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her, parents William & Adeline Hafemann, husband Norman, daughter Twyla, father & mother- in-law, Edward & Alvina Mielke, grandson Dustin Michaelis, and sister-in-law Delores Hafemann. Memorials preferred.
