Gordon Jay Delzer

Gordon J. Delzer age 89 of Belle Plaine and formerly of LeSueur, died on February 5, 2013 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Visitation will be on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur. Private Service and Interment with Military Honors planned at Mound Cemetery on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Gordon was born on May 31, 1923 to Christof and Marie (Doerr) Delzer in Henderson Township, Sibley County, MN. He attended Rush River Area Country School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during WWII and was stationed in the Ascension Islands. He married Shirley Ann Muehlenhardt on September 5, 1952 in Henderson, Minnesota. Gordon owned and operated Delzer Body Shop and Towing in Lesueur. He retired in 1988 but continued to work out of his home repairing radiators. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlyn "Dolly"; son, Jay C. Delzer; 3 sisters Janice, Melinda and Erna and a brother, Elnor "Buck". Gordon is survived by his wife Shirley of Belle Plaine; Daughter, Vicki (Kerry) Wolter of Belle Plaine; Grandchildren Justin and Jeremy Wolter; Sister, Fran Moehnke of Santa Rosa, CA; Nieces and Nephews; and feline friend, Sam.
