Gordon C. Kruschke, age 76 of Belle Plaine, died on January 25, 2011 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in rural Henderson (on Hwy 19). Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7 PM at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Pastor Diane Goulson will officiate. Interment will be in the Redeemer Lutheran Church Cemetery. Gordon was born on January 4, 1935 to Gustav and Sarah (Oldenburg) Kruschke in Derrynane Township, LeSueur County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was a lifetime member. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School and attended one year at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. He lived on his family farm until moving to his own farm in Jessenland Twp. In 2005, he sold his farm and moved to Belle Plaine. In 2008 he moved into the Lutheran Home. Gordon worked as a mechanic at Keup Motors for 45 years. He enjoyed attending football, basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, playing cards and polka music. Gordon was a member of the St. Thomas Sportsman Association for 20 years, coached the St. Thomas women's softball team and was a member of the Redeemer Brotherhood. He loved driving around town in his golf cart. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrtle; brother-in-law, Lawrence Hardel; sister-in-law, Erna, half sister Delia Kruschke Paulson and nephew, Robert. Gordon is survived by his brothers and sisters, Henry Kruschke of Belle Plaine, Helen Hardel of Gaylord, Harold Kruschke of Princeton, Donald (Marion) Kruschke of Princeton, Loren (Evie) Kruschke of Belle Plaine, Luella (Orville) Heitkamp of Belle Plaine, and Willard (Doris) Kruschke of Belle Plaine, and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
