Harriet Rehbein

Harriet Minnie Rehbein, age 96 of Arlington died at her home on Wednesday morning, August 17, 2011. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN with Rev. James Carlson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 21, at Zion Church from 4-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in Arlington Public Cemetery in Arlington. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Harriet was born on July 21, 1915, in Mankato, MN to Edward and Minnie (Kind) Hoffman, and grew up in the Mankato area. She worked various jobs during the Depression, housecleaning and picking strawberries. She married George Rehbein on August 14, 1943, in Logansport, Indiana while George was in the military. The couple lived in Garden City, MN for a short time before moving to a farm near Arlington in 1947. In 1950 they purchased a farm south of Arlington and moved to town in 1958. Harriet worked for over 25 years as a cook for the Arlington Hospital, also working part-time at Kick's Bakery in Arlington. She enjoyed cards, quilting, traveling with George to Texas in their motor home and being involved with her grandchildren. Other interests included Minnesota sports teams; Twins, Timberwolves and Vikings. Harriet is survived by her children; Barbara (Chris) Mohr of Homeland, CA, Dixie Rischmiller of Osakis, MN, George (Kathy) Rehbein of Woodbury, MN, Pam (Ronald) Krueger of Arlington, MN, daughters-in-law, Marge Hoffman and Sally Rehbein. 24 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, with one additional due any day, 25 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Muriel Auringer of Eagle Lake, MN, many nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, George (2010), 2 children, Wayne Hoffman & Robert Rehbein; daughter-in-law, Linda Rehbein and son-in-law, Dale Rischmiller. 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters,
