Helen Elizabeth (Berger) Morrison, 96 passed away Wednesday July 19th at her home surrounded by her family. Wake and funeral will be held on Saturday July 22. Wake will be from 9-11 am at St. John's Catholic Church in Faxon Township, with funeral following beginning at 11 am. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Helen was born February 17, 1921 in Jessenland Township in Sibley County. She was the 5th of 6 children born to John and Sara Trimbo Berger. She met John Morrison through her sister Marie. She and John were married Thanksgiving Day November 25, 1943 at St. Thomas Church in Jessenland. She moved to the Morrison family farm in Faxon Township and lived there her entire married life. Helen was a great cook and homemaker. She took great pride in her baking and entertaining of all her family and neighbors. She did not need a recipe to whip up an apple pie or her famous rhubarb desert. She always had a big garden where for many years she canned for her family. She loved playing cards and loved her neighborhood euchre parties over the years. She loved polka music and listening to Danny O'Donnell. Over the years she worked at Green Giant with her sister Marie and sister-in-law Ella. She worked many years at Faxon Township as an election judge. She knew everyone in the township and always greeted them all with a kind word and friendly smile. She leaves as her legacy her family. She was very proud of all of their accomplishments. She guided them all with her love and her strong Catholic faith. She and John were married for nearly 70 years until his death in April of 2013. She is survived by her six children: Bill (Karen), Colleen (Larry) Plonski, Pat, Judy (Rod) Petersen, Terry (Michelle), and Jeannie (Ron) Savage, 19 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Ella Berger and Lucille Biron. She was proceeded in death by her husband John, her parents, brothers Manning, Mark and Art, and sisters Lorraine Murphy, Marie Morrison and Anna Rita Berger.
