Henry “Hank” Fredrick Koepp, age 86, of Belle Plaine passed Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN. A memorial service for Hank will be Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with Pr. Martin Bentz officiating. Visitation will start two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors will follow the luncheon at Schlegel Cemetery.
Hank was born on January 6, 1939, to Walter and Helen (Hoernemann) Koepp in Hancock Township, Carver County. He was baptized January 22, 1939, and confirmed on April 6, 1952, in the Evangelical Church by Pastor P.J. Haupt. He enlisted into the United States Air Force at age 17. After leaving the service, Hank returned home and found the love of his life, Patricia Behnke. They married, raised a family and resided on a farm in Carver County for 64 years.
Hank’s working career included 12 years at Green Giant in Savage MN, 29 years at the Lutheran Home and Valley View Golf Course during retirement.
He was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church, even coaching the girls’ basketball team and was on the church council for many years.
In his free time, Hank loved golfing, bowling, coaching, playing softball, umpiring, being part of the sportsman’s club and Hank especially loved going fishing at the cabin they rented for 33 years. He enjoyed going to town baseball games and playing cards as well. He also liked playing Santa Claus at many functions.
Hank is survived by wife Pat Koepp; children Randy (Kathy) Koepp, Rick (Sharon) Koepp, and Judy Jacques; daughter-in-law Joyce Koepp; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Bryan Koepp; brothers Robert (Doris)Koepp and Wally Koepp; and sisters Marjorie (Reuben) Tesch and Irene (William) Plonski.
