Herman Luedloff

Herman Robert Luedloff, age 95 of Belle Plaine died peacefully on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021, at Auburn Home in Waconia, MN.  Funeral service will be held at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church (500 W. Church St. Belle Plaine, MN) on Saturday, July 31.  The visitation will be from 9:30-11am prior to the service.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Herman was born on July 11, 1926, in Dahlgren Township, Carver County to Carl and Anna (Lenzen) Luedloff.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards, MN.  On June 4th, 1953, he was united in marriage to Vivian Kroening at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, MN.  They moved out to the family farm in Hancock Township.  They were blessed with two children.  Herman farmed all his life until they retired and moved to their home in Belle Plaine, MN in 1996.  Herman and Vivian recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Herman served many years on the church council at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Herman enjoyed farming, fishing, watching sports, reading, daily conversations with his children and Vivian’s wonderful home cooked meals which he always loved so much.  Every summer he would look forward to all the fresh garden vegetables they grew at the farm.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Herman had a way of making everyone around him feel important and special.  His family was his whole world and he will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Siblings, Edward (Margaret) Luedloff, Earl (Mae) Luedloff, Merlin Luedloff, Viola (Bill) Riebe, Alice (Ray) Arndt, Betty (Roger) Anderson, Charles Luedloff.

Survivors include his loving wife, Vivian, Children, Jonathan (Debra) Luedloff of Norwood Young America, MN, Joyce Arnst of Chaska, MN, grandchildren, Melissa (Brandon) Meuleners, Jenna (Ryan) Schultz, Daniel Arnst (Jessica Fahey), great-grandchild Vivian Schultz. Sister-in-law Dorothy Luedloff as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
