Hillard Herman Oelfke

Hillard Oelfke, age 91 of rural Hamburg passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Golden Hearts Assisted Living Center in Arlington. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Hillard Herman Oelfke was born on March 19, 1927 on the family farm in Helen Township, McLeod County to Otto and Ida (Kroells) Oelfke. Being a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hillard was baptized and confirmed there by Rev. Baumann. He attended Emanuel Lutheran School. Hillard was raised and worked on the family farm his entire life. Hillard is survived by a sister; Marion Ische of Glencoe, brother; Gerald Oelfke of Hamburg, 2 nephews; Mark Ische (special friend Maureen Lowden) and Tom (Nancy) Ische, 2 Great Nieces; Brianna Ische and Kaitlyn (Ryan) Fox. Hillard is preceded in death by his parents; Otto and Ida Oelfke, brother; Walter in infancy, brother-in-law; Harlan Ische, sister-in-law; Jeanette Oelfke and niece through marriage; Kathy Ische.
