Howard L. Lawrence

Howard L.Lawrence, age 89 of Belle Plaine died February 19, 2015 at Mala Strana Nursing Home in New Prague. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24th at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with visitation continuing one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Howard was born on June 1, 1925 in Jessenland Township, Sibley County to Henry and Sarah (O'Mara) Lawrence. He attended Sibley County District #22 Schools. He owned and operated his own milk hauling business as well as working for Page and Hill Construction in Shakopee and for Pete Redman gas station in Belle Plaine. He worked for many years for the State of Minnesota Highway Maintenance out of Jordan, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, watching wrestling on television, playing cards and shaking dice. He is preceded in death by brothers; Mark, Vincent and Francis "Shorty" Lawrence and sisters; Mary Lindorff and Delores Renne. Howard is survived by a brother, George Lawrence of Washington State and nieces and nephews including, Shirley Karg of Belle Plaine, Jerome (Joann) Lawrence, Mankato, Darrell (Debbie) Lawrence of LeSueur, Allan Lawrence of LeSueur, Roger Lawrence of Faribault, Mike (Meg) Lawrence of Cleveland, Charles (Marilyn) Lawrence of Montgomery, Patty (Larry Zelka) Lawrence of Ammboy and Ramona Langeslag of Faribault.
