Ilene E. Hanson, age 76, of Belle Plaine died on October 29, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee. Funeral Service will be at 11a.m. on Thursday, November 1, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Wednesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Ilene was born in Battle Lake on February 9, 1936 to Erwin and Esther (Downing) Henry. She married Julian Hanson on April 20, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Henning, MN. She worked various jobs in Belle Plaine over the years including the plastic plant, Creative Tool and the Lutheran Home. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. Unit #144, VFW Aux. Unit # 6202, was a Meals on Wheels coordinator, a member of the Belle Plaine Historical Society, enjoyed quilting with the church ladies and loved volunteering. Ilene loved visiting with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Julian in November of 1994, her parents and brother, Lyle Henry. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Hanson of Belle Plaine, Connie (Bob) Haas of Belle Plaine, Larry (Janet) Hanson of Belle Plaine, Allen (Theresa) Hanson of Jordan, Patrick (Melissa) Hanson of Belle Plaine; 8 Grandchildren, Jeff (Annette) Hanson, Nathan (Lisa) Hanson, Michael (Melissa) Hanson, Tim (Molly) Moonen, Laura Hanson, Joshua Hanson, Sara Hanson and Matthew Hanson; 2 Great Grandchildren, Elissa and Havyn Moonen; 3 Siblings, Dorothy Balken, Gene Henry and Duane Henry.
