Irene Arvidson

Irene Arvidson, age 90 of Belle Plaine passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. Funeral service will be at 10a.m. on Friday, February 20 at the Kolden Funeral Home Chapel in Belle Plaine. Rev. Steve Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30-7p.m. on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday morning. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Irene was born in Milaca on June 25, 1924 to John and Olga Nelson. On July 9, 1947 she married Leonard Arvidson. She worked for many years at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul where she held various positions within the store. Irene loved being outdoors and flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, and 4 brothers, Ivan, Raymond, Vernon & Melvin Nelson. Irene is survived by her daughter, Sharon Iverson of Belle Plaine, MN, 2 Grandchildren, Ron (Jennifer) Iverson of Brewster, MN & Shari (Kurt) Mann of Belle Plaine, IA, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Nia, Alex & Jalyn, Sister-in-law, Lorraine Nelson of St. Paul, MN.
