Irene E. Gerber

Irene E. Gerber, age 86 of LeSueur, formerly of Mankato, died January 22, 2016 at the Minnesota Valley Health Care Center. She was born February 27, 1929 in Tripoli, IA to Carl and Alma (Buls) Bahlmann and graduated from Tripoli High School. In 1948 she married Raymond Gerber in Waterloo, Iowa. Irene was proud of earning a nursing degree in the early 1970s. She worked in the nursing field and was active in church functions for many years. Irene is survived by children Bruce (Mona) Gerber of San Diego, CA, Jan Gerber of Duluth, MN and Julie (Monty) Heyer of Mankato, grandson Daniel (Gina) Heyer of Cabot, AR, great-grandson Dean Heyer, and sister Darlene Chambers of Santa Fe Springs, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 14 siblings and other family members. Family memorial services will be held at a later date with interment in the Faith United Church of Christ cemetery in Tripoli. The family would like to thank staff and volunteers at the Minnesota Valley Health Care Facility for the special love and care they provided.
