Irene Kahle

Irene Kahle, age 95 of Belle Plaine, passed away on August 8, 2018 at the Auburn Home in Waconia. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, August 14th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Tim Redfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11a.m. at church prior to service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Irene was born in Blakeley on April 10, 1923 to Otto and Clara (Neumann) Schmidt. On September 10, 1941 she married Merrill Kahle. They farmed in Blakeley Township until Merrill died unexpectedly in 1965. Irene then worked for Green Giant and worked as a residential housekeeper and at the Lutheran Home. She loved music, dancing, sewing, crocheting, working on the farm and playing softball. Irene was thankful she could be with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren for so many years and watching them grow up. She loved them all very dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Benjamin ""Doc" (Harriet) Schmidt, Leo "Skip" (Donna) Schmidt, Evey (Rob) Thomason and Ervin Schmidt, and son in law, Tim Kornder. Irene is survived by her children, Robert (Maureen) Kahle of Belle Plaine, Lois (Mike) Bohanon of Hackensack, Lori (Jamie) Scott of Norwood. Grandchildren, Todd (Ann) Kahle, Terry (Angie) Kahle, Kellie, Nick & Emilie Bohanon, Alison Burstien, Andrea (Alex) Perry, Ashli Kornder (Troy Anderson). 7 Great Grandchildren, Brother, Evan (Bernice) Schmidt, sister in law, Catherine Schmidt, Many Nieces & Nephews. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
