Irmgard Bertha Otto

Irmgard B. Otto, age 87 of Arlington, Minnesota died on January 31, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Kurt Lehmkuhl will officiate. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. She was born on May 6, 1929 in Washington Lake Township, Sibley County to William and Martha (Jaus) Panning. She was later baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran at Hamburg. She attended parochial school at Emanuel Lutheran at Hamburg, Minnesota and on November 11, 1947 married Elmer Otto at Emanuel Lutheran. They farmed for many years on their Kelso Township, Sibley County farm and retired to Arlington in 1985. Irmgard enjoyed jigsaw and word puzzles, needlework, sewing, quilting, reading, her garden and time spent with family. She was a Charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, member of Kelso Home Art Extension, American Legion Auxiliary, helped with Meals on Wheels and was active in the Peace Church Ladies Guild and the Kitchen Committee. Survivors include her children, Susan (Ronald) Radke of rural Winthrop and Harlan (Margo) Otto of rural Henderson; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Radke, Jason (sp. friend, Stephanie Arimi) Radke, Daniel Radke, Matthew (Lisa) Otto, Patrick, (Jennifer) Otto and Mark (sp. friend, Krystal Juaire) Otto and 6 great-grandchildren, Paul and Katelynn Radke, Hunter and Holly Otto, Logan McCormick and Archer Otto. Also, siblings, Gordon (Lois) Panning, William (Deanna) Panning of Hamburg, Melroy Panning of Norwood-Young America, Werner (Evelyn) Panning of Aitkin, Martha (Harvin) Smith of Norwood-Young America, Norma Engelmann of Waconia and sister-in-law, Marilyn Panning, Norwood-Young America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2015 and siblings, Raymond, Roland, Marvin, Hillard Panning and Helma Hoernemann.
