Irving "Hap" Ziebarth

Irving "Hap" Ziebarth, age 92 of Le Sueur, died on Sunday morning, August 24, 2014 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Memorial services will be on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Word of Life Brethren Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and one hour prior to the services at church the morning of the services. Veteran services & Police Honor Guard to follow in the church parking lot. Interment will be at a much later time. Rev. Ed Nugent will officiate the services. Hap was born on February 21, 1922 to William R. and Ida F. (Reddemann) Ziebarth in Le Sueur, MN. He attended Le Sueur Schools and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1940. He attended a mechanical trade school for a short time before entering the United States Navy during World War II. After returning home, he worked and owned a Standard Station in Le Sueur before serving on the Le Sueur Police Force for almost 11 years. Following his police service he worked at the Le Sueur Foundry, (Le Sueur Inc.) for over 30 years retiring at 85 years of age. He married Alice Roth on September 4, 1973 in Brainerd, MN. Hap was a member of the Le Sueur American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, crafting, golf & horseshoes. He organized the first women's softball association in Le Sueur and was active in the Le Sueur Horseshoe League. Most of all, he enjoyed doing things with his family and Grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Alice Children; Stanley (Susan) Ziebarth of Madison Lake, MN; Joe (Jean) Ziebarth of Le Sueur, MN; Debby (Steve) Randolph of St. Peter, MN; Jay Sprague of Winter, WI; Birdy (Stuart) Morsching of Madison Lake, MN. Step-children; David (Mary) Roth of The United States, (traveler); Deb Heise of Austin, MN & Dean Roth of Mpls, MN. 18 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren; Sister-in-Law; Clarice Ziebarth of Le Sueur, daughter-in-law; Brenda Hahn. Many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Tom; Parents; siblings, Stanley Ziebarth, Bernalda "Nonie" O'Malley, twin brother Ivan Ziebarth , Norma Martell & Merlin Ziebarth.
