Dr. James O'Reilly

Dr. James Patrick O'Reilly, age 66 of Belle Plaine, passed away on June 16, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Friday, June 22 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Friday morning. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Vet's Club. Jim was born in Red Wing on July 3, 1951 to Thomas and MaryEllen (Gombert) O'Reilly. He grew up in Goodhue and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1969. He married Judy Diercks on August 9, 1969 at Holy Trinity in Goodhue. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Med School in 1976 and completed his residency in Family Practice at Michigan State University, St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. They moved to Belle Plaine in 1980 and Jim worked at the Belle Plaine Clinic for many years. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed woodworking, camping, biking and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Ponclet. He is survived by his wife, Judy, Children, Michelle (Alvin) Gonzales of Carver, Erin (Jason) Noll of Belle Plaine, Shane (Katie Corrigan) O'Reilly of Oakdale, Brigid (John) Cline of New Prague, Grandchildren, Adam & Noah Gonzales, Kevin, Kailey & Anthony Noll, Kate & Devin O'Reilly, Reilly & Jack Cline. Siblings, Thomas (Gayle), Dennis (Diane), Tim (Jeanne) and Sr. Kerry O'Reilly. Many Nieces & Nephews. Memorials are preferred to: University of Minnesota Heart Research or Sisters of St. Benedict.
