Jayne Asora Giesen

Jayne Asora Giesen, age 52 of Belle Plaine, died at home peacefully with her family beside her, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, after a courageous six year battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Rev. John Zeitler will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Jayne was born on December 5, 1958 to Olaf and Leona (Podoll) Egstad in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She graduated from Grand Forks Red River High School. Jayne met Jerry when he was attending vocational school in North Dakota. They were married on August 25, 1979 at River Heights Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, MN and later moved back to Belle Plaine. She worked at the Carver / Scott Educational Co-op as a paraprofessional. Jayne loved to go to craft shows, she enjoyed going up north and was known for her specialty baking of desserts. She was very fond of her pet dogs, but mostly she loved to be with her family and friends and especially her granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her father. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred. She is survived by her Husband, Jerry of Belle Plaine Children, Brent Giesen (Sue Velure) of St. Paul Park, MN, Bridget Giesen of Belle Plaine and Amber Giesen (Cole Deutsch) of Belle Plaine; Granddaughter, Lilianna Giesen; Mother, Leona (Podoll) Egstad Sisters, Phyllis Egstad, Dawn Pledger and Shelly Egstad many Brother and Sisters-in-law; Extended family and Friends.
