Jean Delores Osborne

Jean Delores Osborne, age 97 of St. Peter died peacefully on July 12th, 2023 at the Benedictine Court in St. Peter, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Le Sueur, MN at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Jean will be laid to rest in a Cherry wooden casket handmade by her son, Michael Osborne. Lunch will follow burial at St. Anne’s school in Le Sueur, MN.

Jean Delores (Seitzer) Osborne was born May 23rd, 1926 in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County to Edward and Hazel (Swagler) Seitzer. She attended John Ireland school and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1944 and worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. H. Sandelin D.D.S. from 1944 to 1947. She married Michael Mark Osborne on November 28th, 1944 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. They were married for 73 years and raised seven children on the Osborne family farm in Lake Prairie Township, Nicollet County.

Jean enjoyed family, friends cooking, baking, canning, bridge, tending to her many flower gardens and world travels, especially to Ireland, where she and Mike visited many relatives and friends. There she began to collect and learn about Waterford Crystal to share with her family. Jean was known for her quick wit, sense of humor and flair for style that often included a signature scarf, and was never without her lipstick.

Her family was her greatest accomplishment and we will all miss her deeply.

She is survived by her Daughters: Patricia Mike (David) of White Bear Lake, MN, Marian Welch (J.P.) of Worthington, MA, Colleen Peterson (Nels) of Marine on St. Croix, MN and Kathleen Sawyer (Jeff) of Willmar, MN. Daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Osborne, St. Peter, MN.

Sons; Daniel Osborne (Cindy) of Arlington, MN, Michael Osborne (Jenny) of Pelican Rapids, MN. 18 Grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren and 1 Great, Great grandchild; Brother; Howard Seitzer, brother-in-law; Bill Price, God children and many nieces and nephews and other cherished relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Hazel Seitzer. Husband, Mike; son Mark; and grandson Nolan Osborne. Sisters; Ione and Mary. Brother; Lloyd (Betty) Seitzer, Sister-in-law; Virginia Seitzer.

Our family would like to sincerely thank the Benedictine staff for their loving care and kindness. A very special thank you to our caregiver, Sherry Trullinger who was always there for Jean, and who always went above and beyond.
