Jeanette Irene Oelfke

Jeanette I. Oelfke, age 73 of Hamburg, died on Friday, May 6, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in rural Hamburg with Rev. Don Andrix officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, May 11, from 5-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday morning. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Jeanette was born on Feb. 9, 1938 to Oliver and Cora (Meyer) Peterson in St. Peter, MN. She moved to Arlington as a young girl, graduating from Arlington High School in 1956. She worked for a few years as a nurses aid at the Arlington Hospital before she went to Minneapolis Technical Institute earning her L.P.N. degree in nursing. She married Gerald Oelfke on July 22, 1983 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran in Arlington, MN. She worked for many years at the Arlington Hospital, (Sibley Medical Center), where she retired at the age of 62. She enjoyed playing cards, garage sales and farm shows. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Gerald Son;Kevin (Ione) Stanton of St. Cloud Grandchildren;Sarah, Samuel & Ellen. Sister-in-Law;Marion Ische of Glencoe, MN Brother-in-Law; Hillard Oelfke of Hamburg, MN She is preceded in death by an infant sister, Lois and her parents.
