Jeanette Seemann

Jeanette Seemann, age 88 of Arlington, died on Saturday morning, October 14, 2017. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 19, from 4:00 p.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN. Interment to follow lunch in St. John's of New Rome Cemetery in Sibley County. Jeanette was born on May 23, 1929 in Tower, MN to Esther Lee and Jens Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower, MN. She graduated in May of 1947 from Tower Sudan School. She went to a 2 year teachers college in St. Cloud and got her teacher degree. She taught in the Country school system in rural Arlington, MN. She married Orlen Seemann on August 24, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower, MN. Soon the two of them started a family and they shared 49 years together. Jeanette worked various jobs but her passion was cooking and baking. She also had an amazing candy business. She also did a lot of sewing and making Cabbage Patch dolls. She enjoyed working at church and Volunteering at Good Samaritan Nursing Home and the food shelf. She enjoyed babysitting, time with her family and grandkids. Jeanette had a smile for everyone she met and had a special love and devotion to her Lord. Jeanette is survived by her children; Peggy (Kevin) Kamps of Henderson, MN and Bill Seemann of Honolulu, HI. Grandchildren; Krista (Jay) Caldwell and Katie Seeman; Joe (Diana) Seemann; Mike (Trina) Kamps; Rob (Melanie) Kamps; Russ Kamps and Kevin A. Kamps and his fiancé Missy Dittmer. Also 20 Great-grandchildren; brother-in-law & sister-in-law; Don and Mary Seemann. Many relatives and friends including dear friend Deb Otto. Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Orlen in 2000; son John, parents and in-laws, Vince & Della Seemann.
