Joan Pinske

Joan Doris Pinske, 94, of Arlington, died Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Ridgeview Medical Center- Waconia. Visitation will be held at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN on Thursday, January 1, 2026 from 4 to 7p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday the 2nd at 11a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matthew Rauh officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery followed by lunch served in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Arlington.

She was born April 16, 1931 in Gibbon, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Lydia (Kramer) Ohland. Joan was baptized in May of 1931 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon, MN where she was also confirmed in April, 1944. Joan married Loren Pinske on June 13, 1954. The couple resided in Arlington, MN where they built a family and home together.

Joan graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and spent 35 years teaching kindergarten at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Arlington.

In addition to being a teacher, Joan was an accomplished quilter and piano teacher.

Joan was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington where she served as an organist and volunteered with many church groups. She enjoyed spending time at her lake home on Manuella Lake, as well as playing games, cards, and reading. Joan treasured time spent with family and was a loving mother, and such a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

Joan is survived by her children, Mona (and Daniel) Kaiser of Medford, Jeffrey (and Susan) Pinske of Arlington, and Jack (and Wendy) Pinske of Faribault, her siblings Donald Ohland, Arlys Buch, and Karon (Darrell) Jahn. Ten beloved grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren also survive Joan.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Loren, in 1966, as well as her parents, Arthur & Lydia Ohland, sister-in-law Melda Ohland, and brother-in-law Marcus Buch.
