Joan Mary Seeling

Joan M. Seeling, age 84 of LeSueur passed away on March 10, 2012 at the Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur. Memorial Service will be 7:00pm on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the New Apostolic Church in New Brighton, Minnesota. Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur from 6-8pm on Thursday and continue Friday from 6-7pm at the Church on Friday. Joan was born on December 8, 1927 to James and Elsie (O'Connor) Armstrong in Rangoon, Burma. She moved around a lot while growing up with her dad in the British Royal Army. She attended school in many places in India. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator in England. She married Ernest Richard Seeling in London, England on December 3, 1952. They moved to the U.S. and moved around due to Ernie's job with Boeing. Together they raised three daughters. In 2006, Joan moved to LeSueur. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernie, brother Eddie Armstrong and sister Monica Lorenzo. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Ron) Madson of LeSueur, Minnesota, Susan Seeling of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Beth (Michael) Freund of Burke, Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings Leslie Armstrong, Winnie Ferguson and Heather Nash; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the New Apostolic Church Youth Group.
