Joann "Joey" Brosz

Joann “Joey”  B.  Brosz, age 86 of Le Sueur, died on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2019 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN.  Funeral service will be on Monday, November 25, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Le Sueur, MN.  Rev. Terri Horn and Rev. Wayne Walther, will officiate.  Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24, 3:00 p.m. to  5:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.  Burial will take place at Germantown Cemetery, Lamberton, MN.

She was born on December 19, 1932 to Milton & Mabel (Wegner) Werner in Cottonwood County, MN.  She graduated from Lamberton High School.   She worked at the Lamberton newspaper and later moved to Brookings, S.D.  where she worked at the college.   Joey met  Willard (“Bill”) Brosz  when she worked in Brookings and they were married January 7, 1953 in Lamberton.  After their marriage, while Bill was in the military they lived in Alabama and Maryland.  They later lived in Brookings, Fridley,  and for 50 years in LeSueur, Minnesota where she was a homemaker. Joey volunteered for the Welcome Wagon and Explorer Scouts and worked as a secretary in the public school and for Corner Drug.  She was a member of the PEO, United Methodist Church where she was active in her Circle and in choir.  She enjoyed square dancing and camping, especially in the Black Hills.

She is survived by her husband, Willard “Bill” Brosz; children; Tom (Judy) Brosz of Mountainview, CA; Sue (Ken) Wilson of Henderson, MN and Todd (Danielle) Brosz of Colorado Springs, CO.  7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Sister, Ramona (Bob) Creighton of Lamberton, MN.  Many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents.
