Joseph "Joe" Berger, age 84, of rural Henderson, peacefully passed away on March 5, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, with Fr. Michael Kaluza officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church on the same day. Military rites will follow the Mass outside the church, with a luncheon served afterward in the church social hall. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Jessenland.
Born on May 28, 1941, in Green Isle to Roy and Catherine (Doheny) Berger, Joe lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his community, and his country. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy, demonstrating his commitment and honor. He married Mary Graham on October 8, 1960, and together they made their home in rural Henderson, where they farmed and built a life filled with love and hard work. He also worked in construction and heavy equipment. Joe enjoyed spending time in his shed, repairing and fixing almost anything, a testament to his resourcefulness and hands-on nature. His passions extended to riding horses, fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, planting his garden and cherishing winters in Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Jean Berger.

Dan of Missoula, MT,
and Julie (Brian) Morrison of Belle Plaine.
Grandchildren, Tyler, Emilee, Derek, Drew, and Cade.
Great Grandchildren, Elliotte, Avery, Althea, Cohen, Clara, and Quinn.
Brothers, Donald Berger of St. Cloud, and Timothy Berger of Arlington,
Sister, Mary Melser of Coon Rapids.
Joe Berger’s life was one of service, love, and dedication. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
