John Floer

John Henry Floer, age 72 of Alexandria and formerly of Henderson, died on September 11, 2016 at the Ecumen-Bethany Community in Alexandria. He was born on November 30, 1943 in St. Peter to Joseph and Maria (Huetteman) Floer. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1961 and then entered the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. He then worked for Hansord Pontiac in Hopkins as a mechanic. He married Veronica Engel on August 7, 1970 in Anoka. They lived in LeSueur until 1985 when they moved west of Henderson. He worked until February of 2004 for LeSueur Incorporated in quality control. In 2014 they moved to Alexandria to be near their son. He was a member of the LeSueur American Legion and the Snowdrifters Snowmobile Club. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Son, Jeremy (Kimberly) Floer of Alexandria and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Coraline Floer and a sister, Elvera (Sid) Tousley of Crosslake, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Joe and Henry "Hank" and by an infant daughter, Melissa Floer Memorial Mass will be on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henderson. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, with military honors, will be in the St. Joseph's Church Cemetery in Henderson.
