John W. Meffert

John William Meffert, age 48 of Arlington, died on Monday, August 19, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013, 11:00 a.m, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Arlington Public Cemetery. Lunch to follow at church. John was born on August 26, 1964 to Gerald "Sarge" & Melba (Tellijohn) Meffert in Arlington, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. He attended Arlington schools and graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1982. He married Lisa Bulau on Oct. 16, 1993 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. He worked for many years at Landscape Structures in Delano. He enjoyed golfing, auto racing, dirt-biking, fishing, archery and hunting with his dogs. He is survived by his wife Lisa; children, Mathew & Michaela Meffert of Arlington, MN; Parents; brother, Dave of Arlington & sister Amy (Jeff) Jambeck of Appleton, WI; parents - in-law; Marvin & Irene Bulau of Arlington, MN; sisters-in-law, Nidia "Iris" Meffert of St. Peter, Leslee Miller, Arlington, Lynn Wills of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Chris Bulau of Brownton, MN; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Meffert in 2012.
