John L. Schwamberger, age 69 of Rochester, Minnesota died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester. He was born on September 14, 1940 in Mankato, Minnesota to Raymond and Mary Helen (Reichel) Schwamberger. He attended Franklin Elementary and SS. Peter & Paul School. He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard. John Married Mary Eckhardt in 1963 and they later divorced. He married Carol Sinell on May 8, 1981 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. They lived in Mankato, Le Sueur, Arizona, Florida and have made their home Rochester for the last 23 years. He worked for Continental Can and later for Reichel & Son as a painter. He also worked in metal manufacturing until a labor injury forced his early retirement. He is survived by his wife, Carol; Daughter, Kim Muschitz of Wellington, Ohio; Sons, Paul (Lisa) Schwamberger of Eagle Lake, Jeff (Shelley) Schwamberger and Dan (Michelle) Schwamberger of Mankato; and 14 Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Mary Jean (Bill) Hoffman of Mankato and Virginia (Chris) Hoffmann of German Lake; 2 Brothers, Raymond of Janesville and Tom (Kathy) of Florida. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Huff. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Rev. James Ahlquist will officiate. Interment will be in the Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the services at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur.
