John Louis Steckman

John Louis Steckman, age 83, of LeSueur died unexpectedly at the Ridgeview Medical Center in LeSueur on Thursday, June 11, 2020.   He was born on April 22, 1937 in LeSueur to Willard and Eva (Hornaman) Steckman.  John graduated from LeSueur High School and was in the Army Reserves in LeSueur.  He married Betty Teschendorf on October 12, 1968 at Zion Church.

He worked as a self-employed carpenter, cabinet and furniture maker, building and remodeling homes in the LeSueur area.  He enjoyed hunting in earlier years, fishing in the river and visiting with friends and customers and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Betty

Children,  David Sickler of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Tim (Brenda) Sickler of St. Cloud, Eileen (Chuck) Anderson of Norwood-Young America, Gale (Michael) Braun of Lakeville and Kristi Strom and her special friend Roger Hess of LeSueur.

12 Grandchildren,  Angela, Joshua, Christopher, Drew, Chase, Kayla, Tyler, Nicole, Kelsey, Bryant, Ivy and Elsa

13 Great-grandchildren,  Aleyna, Taylor, Ashley, Britney, Hayden, Kayson, Connor, Maja, Alex, Tristan, Riley, Kaylan and Annabelle.

1 Sister, Diana Cole St. Paul

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Morris
