John O. Ziegler

John O. Ziegler, 64, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Sep 8th, 2025 with Shannon, his loving wife of 32 years at his side. Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, September 27, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur, MN.  Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur on Friday, September 26, starting with a 3:45 P.M. Knights of Columbus Rosary and concluding at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Saturday morning, September 27 at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:45 a.m.  We will then process to St. Anne's Church for the 11:00 a.m. Mass followed by Veterans Honors in church parking lot after Mass.  Family will host a lunch at St. Anne's School.

A Redman farewell recognition ceremony will follow at the Redman Club at 2pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

John was born on April 17, 1961 to Frank J. and Mary (Roiger) Ziegler. He completed his education in Fairfax, Minnesota, where being an exceptional member of a farming family and an outstanding athlete were of great importance to him. John proudly served his country in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in 1993. John owned JZ Construction and created quality homes from the foundation to the roof. John was firmly grounded in his Catholic faith and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a man of great character, a lover of animals and the land, and an inspiration to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon; children: John Jr of Tampa, Fl., Jeff (Viviana) in the US Navy in Japan, Amanda of Olivia, Mn, and “daughter” Angela (Brandon) Sunderman Mueller of Le Sueur, Mn; six grandchildren Emma (Tyler), Ava, Draydon, Brayvon, Zaydon, Rayna; and a precious 5-month-old great-granddaughter, Nova.

John also leaves behind multiple communities of saddened hearts. You added value to the lives of all who knew you, John, and we are indeed grateful.
