Jose' Valdez

Jose' Valdez, age 68 of Le Sueur, died Saturday, November 27 in Le Sueur, MN. A memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur ending with a K.C. Rosary at 8p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service time at church on Friday. Jose' was born on February 28, 1942 to Jose' and Francisca (Rodriguez) Valdez in Crystal City, Texas. He graduated from Crystal City High School in 1960 and then attended Durham School of Business. He married Rose Ann Zagarella on June 12, 1965 in Solvay, NY at St. Cecilia Church. He worked for the Green Giant Company beginning in 1962 and worked in Woodside, Delaware until 1976 and then in Le Sueur until retirement in 2000. He will be remembered by many for his love of fishing, hunting, putzing in his garage, playing with his grandkids, coffee and crossword puzzles at Joanie's and pool at the Green Mill, traveling, playing cards and being known and respected in hardware stores across the country. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Habitat for Humanity. He was active with the Le Sueur museum and Meals on Wheels. Memorials are preferred. Jose' is survived by his wife, Rose Ann; children, Jose' Valdez of New Orleans, Jennifer & Jason Kohnert of Montgomery and Jessica & Matthew Taves of Ithaca, NY; grandchildren, Jose' & Sydney Valdez, Dylan, Mic & Jaret Kohnert, and Lucas & Jacob Taves; siblings, Cecilia and Juan Valdez He is preceded in death by his parents.
