Josie Patterson

H. Joanne (Josie) Patterson, age 67 died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Mayo Health System Hospital in Mankato after a long battle with ovarian cancer with her children by her side. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at St. Paul's U.C.C. in Henderson. Rev. Deb Meyer will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 22 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson and will also continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery in Henderson. Josie was born to Lloyd and Ella (Doerr) Beseke in Henderson on November 19, 1946. She attended Henderson public school. Josie had two children, Jeff and Donna Collins from her first marriage which ended in divorce. On May 6, 1977 she married Raymond Patterson. Ray had two children, Russ and La Donna Patterson from a previous marriage. Ray died in an accident on October 13, 1977. Josie is survived by her son, Jeff "Rolo" (Terri) Collins of Henderson and their children, Casey, Dylan and Evan Coakley; daughter, Donna (Mori) Oestreich of Henderson and their children, Sophia and Hannah; step-son, Russell (Faith) Patterson and their children, Rachel (Ryan) Almich and Melissa Patterson; step daughter, La Donna (Mike) Trimbo and their children, Bryan, Bradley and Ashley of Lolo, MT; brother, Tom Beseke, Sr. of Le Sueur; brother-in-law, Bill Byrne of Henderson; sister-in-law, Shelby Beseke of Henderson and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; brothers, William Beseke and his wife Lois; Lloyd Beseke, Jr. and his wife Ruth; and Phillip Beseke; sisters, Donna Morrisette and her husband Edward Sr. and Sandy Byrne; and 4 nephews and 1 niece. Josie loved her family very much and was sorry she had to leave them but the thought of death never frightened her because she knew she would be with her husband Ray, whom she never stopped loving and the rest of her family again.
